An intoxicated Metropolis man was arrested last week on an outstanding warrant after refusing to leave a home in the Spence Apartments.

Metropolis Police were called because 31-year-old Cory Bullard was reportedly extremely intoxicated and was refusing to leave the apartment as the resident requested. According to the report, police knew that Bullard had an outstanding Massac County warrant for theft. They arrested him on the warrant, but because of the level of intoxication, Bullard had to be taken to Massac Memorial Hospital before making the trip to jail.

Police said that Bullard was belligerent with hospital staff and when taken to jail had to be removed from the cruiser. Bullard also allegedly fought with jail staff while being booked. Bullard faces the theft charge plus additional charges of resisting/obstructing arrest.
