The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help identifying a vehicle wanted in connection to an attempted theft on Monday.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to Roy Lee Road in West Paducah for a theft of a 14-foot enclosed trailer from a local business.

Deputies said the suspect backed a pickup to the trailer and hooked it up to the truck, then traveled south on Roy Lee Road for about half a mile.

They said the suspect reportedly did not raise the jack on the trailer or secure the hitch, and it hit a rough place in the road, causing the trailer to detach from the vehicle.

The trailer traveled on its own for nearly 300 feet, left the roadway and struck a tree. The suspect vehicle drove away without the trailer.

If you have any information about the suspect, please call the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
