Commissioners accept $1.3 million grant for Hotel Metropolitan renovation

Paducah's City Commission on Tuesday passed a municipal order to accept a Mellon Foundation Grant for $1.34 million to make capital improvements to the Hotel Metropolitan and the Purple Room.  

The grant was received on the behalf of the Uppertown Heritage Foundation.

Commissioners also passed a municipal order authorizing the purchase of nine police pursuit SUV's for the Paducah Police department at a cost of $519,240.

Also approved was a 911 tower lease agreement with American Towers LLC for the addition of towers to meet coverage standards for the new 911 system. 

First reading of an ordinance was passed concerning the Medical Cannabis Zoning Text Amendment.
