Hopkinsville police officers said they made a routine stop of a vehicle on Wednesday that they discovered was packed with nearly 100 pounds of illegal drugs.

Police conducted the traffic stop when the vehicle reportedly disregarded a stop sign. A search of the vehicle found 93 pounds of illicit drugs.

Vontrae Lewis of Hopkinsville was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Lewis was charged with disregarding a stop sign, operating on a revoked drivers license and trafficking in marijuana greater than five pounds.
