Hopkinsville man jailed on kidnapping and other charges

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Thursday and charged with kidnapping his two children and assaulting their mother.

Hopkinsville police said 24-year-old Jacob Pruitt hit the childen's mother in the face several times and choked her before leaving with the children.

The children were later found at a family member's home along with Pruitt who fled the scene before being arrested in Elkton.

Pruitt was charged with assault, first degree criminal mischief, kidnapping, strangulation and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.
