The National Weather Service confirmed that one tornado touched down during this week's thunderstorms.
Meteorologists said a brief EF-0 tornado struck the southwestern side of Hopkinsville early Tuesday.
A storm survey team determined the tornado had peak winds of 85 mph. The path on the ground covered a distance of 1.2 miles.
A cinder block garage lost its roof, and an adjacent house sustained roof damage. A carport was tossed into a wooded area. The rest of the damage included several snapped tree limbs
No injuries were reported from the tornado, or with other storms that contained several cases of radar-indicated rotation that never formed into a tornado touchdown. The storms also dumped 3 to 5 inches of rain and caused flash flooding across western Kentucky.
