A Hickory man was taken to the hospital following a crash involving his vehicle and a truck pulling a trailer with farm equipment.

The crash occurred Thursday morning on KY 80 near KY 1124. Graves County Sheriff's deputies said that both vehicles were westbound on KY 80 when a car driven by 69-year-old David Garrard of Hickory struck a combine grain header and the trailer it was on. A Murray man, 46-year-old  Patrick Kough, was pulling the combine header with his truck when the crash happened.

According to the investigation, Garrard's car went underneath the combine header and the trailer, trapping Garrard. The Mayfield Fire Department used mechanical means to free him, then Mayfield-Graves County EMS transported Garrard to Mercy Health Paducah with serious injuries.

Kough and his passenger, 41-year-old Joe Ferguson of Murray, were not injured.
