The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was presented with several hand-held metal detectors Thursday.
Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hilbrecht said the Marshall County Republican Women Committee recently reached out to the sheriff's office with a desire to further the safety of deputies.
With the death of Chief Deputy Jody Cash in mind, Hilbrecht said it would be beneficial for each deputy to have a hand-held metal detector.
On Thursday, the committee presented the sheriff's office with eight Garrett tactical hand-held metal detectors.
In addition, the committee partnered with the Marshall County Kiwanis Club to purchase eight additional devices for the sheriff's office patrol division.
