Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Wednesday for the Hutson College of Agriculture's veterinary school facility to be located at the Murray State University West Farm. When completed, the school will be the first of its kind in the state of Kentucky.
The project came to be after the Kentucky General Assembly allocated more than $60 million in the 2024-26 biennium budget for the project.
There are only 31 accredited colleges in the US with a veterinary school. Enrollment is expected to begin in the fall of 2028.
