A Graves County man arrested on drug trafficking charges at his home on Friday.
Graves County detectives said they searched the home of 40-year-old James T. Richardson on Meridan Road.
During the search, over 11 pounds of marijuana was seized, along with a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun and $48,600 dollars in cash. The suspect stated that he was unemployed.
In July of 2023, the same suspect reported a home invasion where two masked men entered his home and shot him in the hand. Shots were also fired at a female that was present. The sheriff's office investigation concluded that the suspects were attempting to rob Richardson of drugs at his home.
As a result of this latest investigation, Richardson was charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Richardson has prior felony drug convictions.
