A fugitive was arrested after a foot chase in Graves County on Wednesday.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said a caller reported that a suspicious white male was walking in the 500 block of Rule Shack Road near Fancy Farm and looking into homes.

When the suspect saw sheriff’s deputies arriving, he reportedly fled on foot into a field. A local resident provided deputies with a side by side ATV to assist in the search. The man was found hiding under a log in a wooded area.

Deputies said the suspect gave multiple false names, but they were able to identify him as 43-year-old James M. Majors as they had encountered and arrested him many times in this county. The last three times he was arrested, he fled on foot from deputies.

Majors was already wanted on meth charges and probation violations. He was additionally charged with fleeing or evading police, and giving false information to police.
