Geotech drilling continues near U.S. 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge

Geotechnical drilling work near the U.S. 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge, which connects Cairo, IL, and Wickliffe, KY, is ongoing this week.

Later this afternoon, the contractor expects to shift work to the Kentucky side of the bridge.

Drilling will take place at multiple locations both on and off the roadway. Motorists are advised to stay alert and reduce their speed when entering the work zone. 

When drilling operations are on the roadway near traffic flow, signage, flaggers and trucks with arrow boards will direct motorists to shift into the open lane.
