A Fulton man has been charged with trafficking in narcotics after trying to flee a traffic stop and hitting a police cruiser.
Deputies with the Hickman County Sheriff's Office with help from the River County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force tried to stop a pickup driven by Jeremy Pucket of Fulton on Tuesday night. Puckett reportedly refused to pull over and took off. According to the report, Puckett drove his truck off the road and through the yards of several homes and even hit a vehicle driven by one of the task force members.
Puckett eventually crashed his truck in a ditch and tried to run away. Deputies caught Puckett and arrested him. They searched his vehicle and are said to have found 20 grams of methamphetamine and marijuana. As he was being booked into the Ballard County Detention Center, another four grams of meth was allegedly located on his person.
A search of Puckett's home in Fulton reportedly uncovered even more meth along with crack cocaine.
Puckett has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, fleeing or evading police in a vehicle and on foot, assault of a police officer, criminal mischief, and wanton endangerment of a police officer.
