Former Murray Police detective enters not guilty plea on sexual crime charges

A former Murray Police detective made a court appearance Monday.

The Murray Ledger and Times reported Justin Swope pleaded not guilty to 30 charges of sexual crimes involving a minor. 

Swope recently waived arraignment on the charges in Calloway Circuit Court.  Circuit Judge Andrea Moore entered the plea, ordered discovery and set a status hearing for August 17th.

Swope was also indicted on sexual crimes charges in Trigg County involving the same minor.
