Former Murray PD detective Swope indicted on more sex crime counts

The former Murray Police detective arrested on sex crimes charges received more indictments Friday.

The Murray Sentinel reported Justin Swope was indicted on 27 additional sex crime charges in Calloway County.  He now faces 30 charges as the case has moved to Calloway Circuit Court with his bond also being raised from $20,000 to $500,000.

The new indictments allege all 30 counts involve the same minor over the period from June, 2018 until July 2021. 

Swope will be arraigned in Calloway Circuit Court July 6th,

He also faces charges in Trigg County involving the same minor and that case is expected to be brought before a Trigg County grand jury next month.
