Former Eddyville corrections officer sentenced on rape charges

A former Eddyville corrections officer has been sentenced on rape charges.

Thirty-nine-year-old Trista Fox of Fredonia, a former correctional officer at the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville reportedly engaged in sexual conduct with an incarcerated inmate.

Fox was sentenced to one year in prison, probated for three years. 

As conditions of the plea, she will be a 20-year sex offender registrant under the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry, which includes five years of post-incarceration supervision by the Department of Corrections. 

Fox also will be barred from future employment in law enforcement.

On February 5, 2024, Fox pleaded guilty to one count of rape. 

A Lyon County Grand Jury previously indicted Fox.
