Fire destroys abandoned church in Metropolis

Fire destroyed an abandoned church building in Metropolis on Monday night.

The former Faith Tabernacle/Assembly of God building was located at 8th and Broadway.

The blaze was first reported at about 7:45 p.m.

Witnesses said the building had not been used in several years.
