The snow is almost gone and long-awaited warmer temperatures have finally arrived for an enjoyable work week, but some considerable rain is possible for the weekend.
High temperatures Tuesday will exceed 65 degrees across the southern half of the region, even up to 70 in the Ozark counties of southeast Missouri or along the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Paducah's record of 73 Tuesday and Wednesday (set in 1999) should be safe.
Temperatures will cool down to seasonal normals on Wednesday, and remain through the remainder of the week; it will still be near or even slightly above normal of about 49 for much of this time.
Rain chances Tuesday and Tuesday night will be light, around a tenth of an inch, to slightly more along the Kentucky-Tennessee border.
But a wet weekend is in play, with forecast amounts ranging in the 1.5 to 2.5 inch range. Eventual amounts will be highly dependent on the still wobbling track of the system.
