Paducah Police conducted a drug roundup on Wednesday after a series of undercover purchases in the city.

Detectives, with help from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, investigated the alleged sale of drugs for several weeks before making four arrests.

The focal point of the investigation was the city’s north side near North 12th and Northview. Arrests began in that area of town about 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police picked up 35-year-old Quantez Doyle after reportedly making a couple of purchases. Doyle was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. Then they arrested 59-year-old James Brown after he was allegedly located with synthetic cannabinoids. He was also charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in synthetic drugs.

Also arrested were 54-year-old Yul Reese, Sr and 34-year-old Yul Reese, Jr. Both were said to be in possession of large amounts of synthetic drugs. Reese, Sr also reportedly admitted to selling the drugs the day before.

Police said that Reese, Jr. was a convicted felon in a previous battery case from Illinois, meaning he should not have been in possession of the firearm detectives found near him. Digital scales and cash were also reportedly in his possession. The two were charged with trafficking in synthetic drugs. The younger Reese was also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

All four men were taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
