Two separate drowning incidents were reported this weekend on Kentucky Lake.

On Saturday, a male reportedly drowned after going missing from a group near Fenton Bay, just south of the Eggners Ferry Bridge. The group the man was with called Kentucky State Police when they could not locate him.

According to Chief Kenny Pratt, the Marshall County Rescue Squad was already on the water for a training exercise when they got the call from KSP just after 1:30 p.m. They were able to locate and recover the body in about 15 minutes.

Pratt told West Kentucky Star that the Trigg County Coroner's Office is handling the investigation.

Then on Sunday, the body of a man was pulled from Kentucky Lake after he and another person jumped off a towboat.

According to Chief Kenny Pratt, the Marshall County Rescue Squad was called out at about 6 p.m. Sunday to assist authorities in Livingston County as they searched for an individual in the water near Kentucky Dam. Pratt told West Kentucky Star that two people jumped into the lake from a towboat tied up near the upper side of the locks. Reportedly, one individual surfaced, but the other did not. Multiple agencies searched until the Marshall County Rescue Squad located the person on sonar and put two divers in the water for recovery.

The Livingston County Coroner is handling the investigation.

The Marshall County Rescue Squad said these were the fourth and fifth drownings they have been called to this year.
