Authorities are continuing to investigate the death of a Trigg County man Friday night.
WKDZ reported the Trigg County Sheriff's Office responded to a home invasion call Friday night on Pleasant Hill Church Road. Deputies found 49-year-old Brian Jospeh Rogers on the property.
Investigators found Rogers to be highly intoxicated and when they tried to arrest him, Rogers began to fight with officers. Cadiz Police assisted and deployed a taser. Rogers continued to fight them. He was then apprehended and taken to Trigg County Hospital for medical clearance.
Rogers was responsive just prior to arriving at the hospital and then passed out. Officers and Trigg County Hospital staff rendered aid and Kentucky State Police at Mayfield were called in to assist in the investigation.
Rogers was pronounced dead at the hospital by the Trigg County Coroner. An autopsy and death investigation will be done at the state medical examiner's office in Louisville to determine the cause of Rogers' death.
It was also noted by Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree that he had dealt with Rogers on the same complaint in the early morning hours on Friday. The homeowners refused to file charges.
Kentucky State Police will be handing the investigation.
