A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a daytime lane restriction along Interstate 24 in Lyon County to finish sealing cracks in the pavement.
The work zone, starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, will be between the Cumberland River Bridge and I-24 Exit 45, and has a reduced speed limit of 55 mph.
This is part of a $9.2 million project to seal and micro-pave sections of Interstates 24 and 69 in KYTC District 1.
All work on this project will be paused over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
Micro-surfacing is expected to begin in approximately 30 days.
The overall project is expected to wrap up by September 30, 2025.
