Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative made good progress on Thursday to restore power to its customers after widespread damage caused by Wednesday's storms.
The damage resulted in 80 outages, leaving approximately 5,000 members without power.
As of Thursday afternoon, the number of outages was reduced to 9, with approximately 370 members still without power, including 300 in Ballard County.
JPEC currently has 19 crews and 100 line technicians working on restoration, along with 7 Groves Electric crews, 4 Townsend crews, and 2 Paducah Power System crews.
Most of the outages were anticipated to be restored by last night, but there will be some members left without power until mid-day Friday.
The delay also affects members in the Livingston County and Smithland area, where 21 customers are impacted due to broken transmission poles.
