Human remains found in Hickman have been identified as a person missing since February.

Hickman Police posted Monday that DNA samples obtained from recently recovered bones in Hickman match the DNA of 47-year-old Nicky Avent.

The remains were discovered on September 14 by a Hickman resident operating an ATV in a rural part of town. The coroner's office conducted a forensic examination, and the medical examiner concluded that there were no signs of foul play.

At the time when Avent was declared missing, police said his family told them he may have been in need of medical assistance.

The Hickman Police Department is continuing their investigation efforts on reconstructing the events leading up to Avent's disappearance. Anyone with potential information is asked to contact Hickman Police.
