Crittenden County woman charged with threatening officers with shotgun

 A Crittenden County woman is facing charges after authorities said she threatened officers and another person with a shotgun on Sunday night.

Crittenden County deputies were called to Mexico Road after a report that 50-year-old Carla Belt was pointing a shotgun at a man sitting in a parking lot.

When deputies arrived, Belt barricaded herself inside a home. She then made threats to shoot law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office said Belt had to be forcefully removed from the home. Deputies found a shotgun inside.

Belt was charged with wanton endangerment, terroristic threatening, possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest.

She was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
