One of the biggest fall events in western Kentucky is set for this weekend with the opening of the 48th Trigg County Country Ham Festival.

More than 200 vendors will be in downtown Cadiz and in West Cadiz Park, along with agricultural exhibits, live music and family events on Friday and Saturday. Carnival rides will open Thursday night.

After opening ceremonies Friday at 10 am, vendors and ag displays will open, including the top country hams from the week's judging. There's also a petting zoo, a quilt show, and entertainment will begin on stage.

Saturday starts with baking Kentucky's largest ham biscuit from 7:30 til 9am. It'll be served up at 11 am, and you can enter the ham and biscuit eating contest at 11.

The car, truck and motorcycle show will start at 8 am.

Other events include a mullet contest, beard contest, pony pulls, hog calling, and more live music on stage all day.
