Mayor Rita Dotson has provided an update on the storm response in Benton.

Dotson said there hadn't been any deaths reported in Benton, so far.

The Benton Water Department is working on getting water up and running. The power outage knocked the plant offline. Although power has been restored to the plant, multiple water lines are broken from uprooted trees. Dotson said they hope to have water running again soon.

The Benton community building is open for anyone that needs a place to get warm or have somewhere to rest. In addition, the Exceptional Center has opened as a place to drop off donations to help those that have lost everything.

Dotson said the state is also in the process of sending bottled water. City officials will provide more information once the water has been delivered.
