Crash west of Calvert City could have US 62 closed until 6 p.m.

A crash knocked down poles and dropped utility lines along US 62 just west of Calvert City, and could have the road closed for most of this afternoon.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on US 62 between Industrial Parkway and Patterson Road. Sources said that a dump truck crashed and took out several poles, bringing wires down across the road. 

A detour is set up for passenger vehicles along Howard's Grove Road to Horace Barnes Road to Alamo Road back to US 62. Heavy commercial vehicles would need to find another route. 

Marshall County Emergency Management posted to social media just after 10 a.m., saying it could be 6 p.m. before the scene is cleared.
