A crash on Wednesday night along I-69 near Dawson Springs claimed the life of an Arkansas woman.

Kentucky State Police were called at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to I-69 in the Dawson Springs area, near the 92-mile marker. Investigators believe a northbound vehicle driven by 64-year-old Julia Jones of Blue Mountain, Arkansas, crossed the median into the southbound lanes and collided with a northbound semi. The truck, driven by 51-year-old Jose Tovar-Silva of Mexico, saw the vehicle coming into his path, but could not avoid it.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner. Tovar-Silva was not injured.

No criminal charges have been filed in the case. The crash remains under investigation.
