Fire extinguished at Mayfield's new Hampton Inn

UPDATE:

Mayfield and Graves County firefighters extinguished the blaze at the new Hampton Inn in Mayfield on Tuesday afternoon.

Sources told West Kentucky Star that the fire was reported just before 3:00 pm after an electrical surge while crews were working.

According to sources, two individuals were taken to a hospital, but there is no report at this time as to their conditions.

The 5-story, 87-room hotel had just opened to guests in mid-August

A fire has been confirmed at the new Hampton Inn in Mayfield.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office confirmed reports that a fire is being fought at the hotel by Mayfield Fire and Mayfield Graves County Fire and Rescue.
