A single-vehicle crash in the Lyon County Schools dropoff line ended in minor injury to a child and charges for the driver.

The crash happened off Fairview Avenue in Eddyville during the Tuesday morning dropoff. The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said the 48-year-old Odalis Coronado was dropping off her grandchild when she lost control of the car. The report indicates that Coronado accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake causing the vehicle to jump a curb and a sidewalk before landing in a ditch. At the time, the child was unrestrained and suffered minor injuries to her face. No one else was hurt in the incident.

Coronado was charged with not having an operator's license, failure to maintain required liability insurance, and failure to use a child restraint. Deputies impounded the vehicle.
