Comer’s first stop of the day was in Marion at the Marion-Crittenden County James C. Johnson Airport. The announcement formalized the $1 million grant to build a parallel taxiway. According to The Crittenden Press, the funding was first reported back in February. Comer said the taxiway will increase safety at the airport, which can be a help in economic development.
Comer also made a stop in Mayfield at Cornerstone Connectivity, formerly WK&T Telecommunications. The Congressman was joined by Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell and Travis Burton from the USDA Rural Development. There, Comer and Burton delivered a $1.3 million grant to expand broadband access to portions of rural Carlisle County.
