After a wet start for the holiday tonight, several days of very cold weather are expected from Friday through most of next week.

From this afternoon through tonight into daybreak Thanksgiving Day will bring a round of light rain showers and chilly temperatures. The high Thursday will be 47, compared to the historical average of 52-55 degrees.

A wave of much colder and well below normal temperatures will arrive after Thanksgiving through the weekend. Lows will be around 25 on Friday morning, 20 on Saturday and 22 on Sunday morning.

While no impactful winter weather is expected, some light snow accumulation is possible on Saturday. Chances for any accumulation will be better from Carbondale to Evansville than in western Kentucky.

From the weekend through next Wednesday, we'll see high temperatures in the 30s that would be below normal even for January.
