Christian County man dies in house fire

An early Wednesday morning fire in Christian County destroys a home and its owner dead.

WKDZ reported the fire occured in the Herndon area on Striped Bridge Road. 

Christian County fire responders said when they arrived at the residence just before 1:30 am, they found it fully engulfed and the second story had collapsed.

Once the fire was extingusihed, the body of 83-year-old Stephen Finchum, the home owner, was found insdie according to Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
