Analysis of census data shows that Paducah's population grew by more than 8 percent over the past decade.

Paducah planning director Nic Hutchison provided an overview of Paducah’s census data to city commissioners this week.

In comparing the 2010 and 2020 census results, he said Paducah saw an 8.44 percent increase in population, and McCracken County as a whole grew more than 3 percent.

Paducah's 2020 census was 26,384. In 2010, Paducah's population was 25,024. McCracken County had a population of 67,875 reported in the 2020 census, up from its 2010 population of 65,565.

Hutchinson said specific census tracts in Paducah and McCracken County with the largest population growth included two tracts in Lone Oak, one in downtown Paducah, and another at Fountain Avenue.

Population and other census figures are available at the City of Paducah demographics page.
