Carlisle County Sheriff's Office K9, Kimber, officially retired on Tuesday.
During a ceremony at the Carlisle County Fiscal Court, Kimber's handler, Deputy Ben Green, was presented with a certificate and a retirement badge with Kimber's name on it.
Kimber served a total of nine years in law enforcement across McCracken and Carlisle Counties. During his tenure, he was involved in hundreds of narcotics finds and the arrest of numerous fugitives and suspects.
Kimber will live out his remaining years with Green's family.
Green was also presented with two life saving awards. The first recognizes him for his actions while off duty when a girl began choking and he immediately jumped into action and saved the child's life.
The second is related to his actions at a home in Arlington, when it was reported a young man was bleeding out on a porch. Green arrived and applied a tourniquet.
