Carlisle County Sheriff Will Gilbert is addressing recent complaints of speeding and careless driving on HWY 1377.
Gilbert posted to Facebook Friday that the Sheriff's Office had received several complaints of speeding that center around travel both before and after school. Gilbert said the complaints identify both student and adult drivers.
Gilbert asked parents to have a "serious conversation" about speeding. In his post Gilbert said; "I spoke with a local insurance company and was told that a teenage driver could expect a 25% increase in car insurance for receiving a ticket. With the current cost of living, no one wants an added cost to their insurance. An at fault collision will usually double the cost of the insurance."
Gilbert said deputies worked traffic details at various times last week and have issued multiple warnings, which he believes justifies the complaints.
