Calvert City's annual cleanup day for residents is scheduled for September 17 in Doctor's Park.

The event provides residents with an opportunity to properly dispose of garbage and household hazardous waste.

The free service will take place rain or shine from 8 am until 12 pm behind the library. Volunteers from Public Works will assist with unloading vehicles.

Residents must bring identification such as a driver's license or water bill to verify residency.

Available services and accepted items include document shredding, tires, old prescription drugs, large or bulk items, used oil, antifreeze, latex paint, fluorescent lamps and bulbs, thermostats, and more.

SmartPath Technologies will also be on hand to assist with wiping computer hard drives.
