The Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation approved $1,895,000 for 11 agricultural loans for projects across the commonwealth at its monthly board meeting.
One of those loans is going to Calloway County, which is set to recieve $250,000 under the Agricultural Infrastructure Loan Program.
KAFC participates with lenders to provide financing to producers making capital expenditures for agricultural projects through the AILP. Eligible projects include permanent farm structures with attached equipment that improves the profitability of farming operations. Producers may be eligible for up to $250,000 not to exceed 50 percent of the project.
Meanwhile the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approved $1,848,301 for agricultural diversification and rural development projects across the commonwealth at its monthly board meeting.
The Murray State University Center for Agricultural Hemp was approved $247,500 in state funds over a two-year period to help establish the Kentucky Fiber Hemp Farming Network and assist in establishing a consistent supply with Fibonacci/Hempwood.
In addition, Caldwell County will recieve $1,390 under the County Agricultural Investment Program. That program provides Kentucky agricultural producers with cost-share assistance on practices to allow them to improve and diversify their current farm operations.
