A Burna couple was arrested on Wednesday after an argument escalated to a traffic crash, then to the courthouse, and possible additional charges involving drugs.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, 39-year-old Mark Rupcke and 41-year-old Samantha Rupcke got into an argument on Wednesday morning. At some point, Mark left the home, while Samantha left later to look for him.

Reportedly, the two passed each other along US 60 just east of Smithland with Samantha turning her vehicle around to get behind Mark heading westbound. She allegedly rammed into his truck on the Cumberland River Bridge. Mark reportedly stopped on the bridge and initiated a physical altercation.

The two reportedly drove to the Livingston County Justice Center. Mark wanted to report the crash, while Samantha wanted an emergency protective order.

Deputies also uncovered information regarding possible drug sales while interviewing the couple. The deputies searched the couple's vehicles and home, reportedly locating a small amount of illegal drugs, paraphernalia, scales, and $1,023 in cash.

Mark was charged with assault and Samantha was charged with assault and wanton endangerment because the couple's nine-year-old daughter and five-year-old son were in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

Deputies said additional charges are pending.
