Brookport Bridge back open after truck crash

The Brookport Bridge is back open after a crash involving a truck.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a flatbed truck struck the bridge on the Illinois side in the curve. The bed of the truck was reportedly knocked off and the trailer it was pulling became disconnected. 

After police got the crash cleared, KYTC bridge inspectors completed the safety check on the bridge and reopened it to traffic. Inspectors said the damage to the bridge appeared to be limited to the guardrail.
