Body recovered from Mississippi River near Portageville

Deputies from the New Madrid County Sheriff's Office in Missouri responded to a report of a body in the Mississippi River on Thursday.

The sheriff's office got the call about a body in the river near Portageville, next to a barge. Deputies and the Coroner recovered the body, which has yet to be identified.

Authorities said an autopsy is scheduled.
