Benton issues burn ban in city limits

The city of Benton has joined Murray in implementing a burn ban within its city limits.

Benton officials announced the burn ban on Thursday due to drought conditions that are in place for most of western Kentucky.

Murray has had a burn ban in effect since it was declared by the fire department on July 3. Murray's fireworks were postponed until drought conditions ease.
