A 14-year-old is facing more charges in connection with the shooting near the Mayfield high school football game last Friday.
Mayfield Police Chief Nathan Kent said that after interviewing witnesses, the juvenile suspect now faces additional charges, including five counts of wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a minor and unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.
The 14-year-old male from Fulton, Kentucky was initially arrested for first-degree assault.
He is currently being held at a juvenile detention center.
Police said the juvenile shot 18-year-old Jordan Riley of Farmington. Riley had to be airlifted to an out-of-state hospital, where he is currently in stable condition.
Investigators learned the 14-year-old shot at Riley after a fight between Riley and another juvenile in the parking lot adjacent to the War Memorial football stadium during the season-opening "Battle of the Birds" matchup between Mayfield and Graves County.
