The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree will make a stop in Paducah before it gets to Washington, D.C.
The tree will be at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion downtown on Friday, November 14th, at 4 p.m. An official banner will be displayed with the tree for guests to sign.
Silver Belle, as the tree has been dubbed, was harvested on public land in Nevada. The journey to Washington will see it make stops in Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, before a stop in St. Louis. Paducah is the next stop before it makes its way to Lexington.
Paducah Main Street will be hosting the event, which will feature caroling, hot cocoa, and opportunities to shop. Several downtown businesses will be set up, along with vendors from around the area, helping give a jump-start to the Christmas season.
While local officials will be there as part of the event, one jolly old elf will stop by, as well.
