The Graves County Pioneer Award Committee is currently seeking nominations for this year's award.

The Pioneer Award is given annually to a Graves County resident or residents who give of their talents and their time for the betterment of not only their community but all of Graves County. The award is a way to express appreciation for those efforts. The committee presents the award annually during the Fancy Farm Picnic, which is scheduled this year for August 3rd.

Nomination forms can be sent by email to committee member Diane Smithson at diane.smithson2@gmail.com or by mail to Smithson at 818 Rule Shack Road Mayfield, Kentucky, 42066. Anyone can submit a nomination, but the nominee must be a Graves County resident. The deadline to submit a nomination application is June 28th.

The Pioneer Award Committee consists of Gayle Robbins, Diane Smithson, Doug Sims, Deborah Crooks, Dr. Richard Parker, Phil Myers, Darvin Towery, and Derrick Parrott.
