Livingston County's annual Bale Trail is open this month. More than a dozen outdoor scenes have been created using painted or decorated hay bales depicting Halloween or fall themes, as well as many that urge you to donate to local charities.

Go to the Bale Trail Facebook page for a map of locations in Smithland, Salem, Burna, Carrsville and Grand Rivers. As you drive through Livingston County's fall foliage, you'll also be able to vote for your favorite bale displays on your cellphone.

Winners will be announced at the Bale Bash on Saturday, Nov. 2 along with a trunk-or-treat, a chili and hot dog dinner, costume contest, cake walk and more.

The Bale Trail is organized by and benefits the Livingston County 4-H Animal Sciences Club.
