September marked the first month of this school year’s Teacher of the Month awards. Today was a beautiful day to present the award to Abby Putney a teacher at Marshall County High School.

“Her kids love her. Her principal loves her. She’s just a great asset all around,” said Shannon Solomon, Principal of Marshall County High School. Mrs. Putney teaches geometry to 90 students, which she says SHE LOVES because it “applies to all students in such different ways.”

West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month, sponsored by Scott Walker Construction, is awarded each month of the school year. As the September winner, Mrs. Putney will join the future 2024-2025 awardees for West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Year 2024 – 2025. This year, each teacher’s school will receive a yard sign to show that a “Teacher of the Month Works Here.” It’s a great addition to the school entrances and a way schools can show off their winning teacher! The cash prize also increased this year too. Thanks to our sponsor, all monthly winners receive $75!
