The Graves County Pioneer Award Committee is currently seeking nominations for this year's award.

The Pioneer Award is given annually to a Graves County resident that gives back to the community for the betterment of all as a way to express appreciation for their efforts. The committee presents the award during the Fancy Farm Picnic, which is scheduled this year for August 5th.

The deadline to nominate someone is June 12th. Applications can be picked up at the Mayfield-Graves County Chamber of Commerce, the Graves County Public Library, the YMCA, or Independence Bank. They can also be requested by email from committee member Diane Smithson at diane.smithson2@gmail.com or by calling 270-527-8484. 

Nomination forms can be sent to Smithson by mail at 818 Rule Shack Road Mayfield, Kentucky, 42066.

Smithson is joined on the Pioneer Award Committee by Gayle Robbins, Doug Sims, Deborah Crooks, Dr. Richard Parker, Phil Myers, Darvin Towery, and Derrick Parrott.
