The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will hold its fall public auction of surplus property and confiscated hunting and fishing equipment on Monday, October 6 at its Frankfort headquarters.
Surplus property has been known to include boats, trucks, tree stands, firearms and four-wheelers. Some is equipment and materials no longer used by the agency. Confiscated items are obtained through court orders tied to fish and wildlife law violations.
Proceeds from the agency's spring and fall auctions go to the state’s game and fish fund, which supports conservation and recreation programs across Kentucky.
A full list of items is available on the department’s Surplus and Confiscated Items Auction webpage. All items are sold as-is. By law, only qualified Kentucky residents may bid on confiscated equipment including firearms, and some purchases may require a background check.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Eastern time, with the auction starting at 9:30 a.m. The sale will take place outdoors, rain or shine.
Accepted payment options include cash, check, certified check, and credit or debit cards.
